Charity & Community Involvement
Outside the courtroom, Cooney & Conway is known for its strong community involvement and philanthropic contributions. The partners, associates, and staff at Cooney & Conway understand the importance of giving back, are proud to promote and contribute to several charitable and nonprofit organizations.
Medical Research and Funding
Cooney & Conway attorneys are advocates for medical research and funding and makes contributions to institutions that help our clients who suffer from asbestos-related and other diseases. We fund Mesothelioma research at the University of Chicago and around the country. In honor of Marcia Stenn, spouse of former Partner Irving Stenn Jr., Cooney & Conway contributed to the establishment of an Endowed Chair in Medicine at Northwestern University. Cooney & Conway also funds clinical research in Occupational Medicine at Drexel University.
Scholarships
Cooney & Conway has established and funded scholarships with several local high schools and universities. For nearly two decades, Cooney & Conway has proudly partnered with Cristo Rey High School to sponsor students as employees at the firm while funding their education. Cooney & Conway also contributes to the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund, which provides high school scholarship assistance and educational support to Chicago students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. To encourage future generations of trial advocates, the partners at Cooney & Conway established both an endowed Chair in Advocacy and an Endowed Scholarship Fund at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Attorneys at Cooney & Conway proudly give back to the legal community and are active participants in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Women’s Bar Association, and others.
